In this second meeting, we discussed about the writing process. At first, lecture asking us about the definition of academic writing and we combined our perception about academic writing. I have read about writing process. For me, writing can not be one-step action because it take few steps to make only draft. For example, when we have something to write, we need to read and find information about that thing. Then, after found some information we write what we already have been thinking about that. After that, we have to evaluate and change (if there is any mistakes) it. Not only that, we have to revise and revise again our text. So, that’s why I called writing can’t be one-step action.

The lecture discussed about 7 steps to success in writing and keywords in academic writing. When we write about something, we also have to be focus on the topic sentence. Every paragraph should support the topic sentence that there in first paragraph. However, academic writing is formal type text. That means we have to use the third person point of view, we have to avoid informal type such as slang, and we don’t use contraction. This meeting has big impact for me. I kind of like to start writing something. I hope this subject will give me many information about how to start liking write something.
